Some of our customer already use the activity functionality in Workbooks to track time utilisation. This is normally achieved by adding meeting activity to either an order or a case and then using the start and end times to calculate the time delivered.

It is then possible to write a report which add together all the time delivered against a specific case or order.

We recognise this isn’t as elegant as a time sheet, so we will keep the timesheeting requirement under review.

Not within the product. It would be possible to build a timesheet facility in an iframe attached to People record. The idea being that the timesheet UI should show/update/create Activities associated with that person.

Hello – unfortunately this is the way that Uservoice (the technology behind the Suggestions area) is designed to work. By allowing you ten votes which must be allocated to your favourite ideas it forces you to choose; there are a lot of great ideas on this forum but we have to work out which will get the most “bang for our buck”.

You can reallocate your votes if you see an idea which you now think is a more valuable idea than one on which you voted previously. Also, note that Workbooks has historically addressed the top-scoring ideas and as ideas are completed those votes get returned to users so they can be allocated to other ideas.

Thanks for the feedback. I have adjusted the introductory message shown at the top of the forum to make the way it works a little clearer.

You can now use Zapier to do this.

Please explain what you mean by new year pricing. There’s no need to add a new product for each year, unless you want to include the year in the product code. Simply open the relevant product records and make the necessary changes, such as increasing the price. If there are lots of products to update, you may wish to export the data to a spreadsheet format, update the data there (because it’s quicker than opening, changing, saving many records), import the data back into Workbooks using the update/overwrite import mode.

Chris, I took a look at Doomi (http://doominow.com/) and it is interesting. What other tools have you looked at for to-do list management? (Doomi doesn't seem to be actively developed).

In particular I think something with GUIs for mobile devices and full sync would be useful.

Finally, using Google Docs you can share meeting minutes pretty effectively; that is already integrated with Workbooks.

I'll be interested in your thoughts.
    James

Using the new Audit extension to Workbooks you can track this and report on it. Audit is chargeable but extremely powerful and gives you visibility of everything which occurs within your Workbooks database. Please contact us if you would like to learn more or trial this feature.

John, very early next year you will be able to add buttons to Workbooks forms which invoke scripts. Such scripts are passed values from the main object when they run. If you can define the activities which need to be created in terms of these values then this could be automated fairly easily. Depending on your requirements you could create multiple Activities when the button was used.

If you are interested in this please get in touch with us (if you want us to write scripts this would be chargeable). support@workbooks.com
