Workbooks Enhancements & Suggestions

At Workbooks, we think that our customers should have the opportunity to influence our product development priorities.

If you have any suggestions or would like to vote on an existing suggestion, please do so – it helps us choose the features we will work on next.   1. Mailshots & Campaigns - support 'opt-in' as well as 'unsubscribe'

    At the moment when you send a campaign mailshot, you can include an 'unsubscribe' page which allows people to unsubscribe from all future mail, or from individual campaigns which they've *already* received email from.

    We'd like to extend this so you could include future possible campaign mailshots on the same page, allowing opt-in as well.

    eg: You run one general 'Newsletter' mailshot to all customers, but use that page to allow them to opt into more specific campaign newsletters on sub-topics if they wish to.
    Or a one-off campaign mailshot after an exhibition to new leads allows people to opt…

  2. Default setting for email field on each record type

    The ability to set for each record type the default field used for the send 'to' email address.

    This would allow the use of the 'Send Email' button to be tied to a field on each object.

  3. Dynamic MultiSelect from report

    It would be great if you could create a Dynamic MultiSelect field from a report.

    This came about while trying to keep a custom picklist field in Sales Lead synced with Product codes. If i could create a product report, dynamically link it to the custom MultiSelect field, the codes would always be up to date.

  4. Add an 'assigned to' column in the quick search records

    when making a quick search, it would be useful to know who the results are assigned to. Whether that is a person, organisation, opportunity etc.

  6. Record user information against each workbooks user.

    Have the ability to record user information against each workbooks user. This could then used throughout the system but especially in templates...

  8. Copy Function - When creating new users, it would be easier to copy an existing user when setting up a new user who does the same job.

    Copy an existing user, when setting up a new user, who do the same job. It would save a lot of time when setting up security/capabilities etc.

  9. Order Line - Order Fulfilment

    In addition to managing your term contract fulfilment and billing commitments, managing your day to day orders and tracking the status of deliveries of each of the order components can prove to be very onerous. We are therefore proposing to add order fulfilment functionality to provide:

    • Order and order line status tracking
    • Order line quantity tracking - in terms of delivery and invoicing
    • Order line invoice tracking – order lines may appear in multiple invoices

  10. Opportunity Cost

    In order to get a better idea of margins against sales opportunities for the sales pipeline, it would be beneficial to have a field on the "Line Items" where a cost can be entered to allow analysis. This is not possible unless all product lines are entered into the product book portfolio with set costs assigned.

    Where the opportunity is made up from a vast number of product lines it would be more appropriate to use a LOT sum based on a sales price and a cost price thus illustrating a profit margin.

  11. Ability to view the size of an attachment to an email

    It would be very useful to see how large an attachment is on an email to help with database capacity / storage. This would enable any large attachments to be deleted if no longer required.

  12. Ability to create a postal address label direct from the PERSON record

    When sending a parcel or letter we would like to look up the contact to ensure we have the correct details and then want to print off an address label (or export to allow a mail merge).

  13. Tax-inclusive pricing on line items

    Would like a feature which allows Workbooks to be easily configured to support entering line item prices as ‘tax-inclusive’, and have the system work out and take off the correct amount of tax. It would be helpful to have the option to enter pricing either way, tax inclusive or exclusive and have the system calculate and correctly total up the amount of tax from the line items.

  14. Opportunity Lines - The ability to sort lines on Opportunities

    Currently it is not possible to sort Opportunity Lines we require the facility to be able to do this on the Headings on the Opportunity Line screen.

  15. Make it easier for users to maintain/update picklists.

    The ability for a user to add to a pick list from the record form would be a great time saver and improve the end user experience.

  16. Multiple Data on Line Charts

    I would like to plot multiple data on one line chart, such as various categorised Lost Opportunity reasons by amount per month, or number of cases per type closed over time, where the multiple lines on the chart would be the case types.

  17. Page returns to previous place when a change has been made

    When making a change to a long list (Campaign Members for instance) it would be very helpful if the list returned to its previous position after refreshing - rather than returning to the top

    Hopefully we will be able to remove the requirement for this when we add editable grids, so that you can amend records in line from the Landing Page (or Campaign Members tab for example) rather than having to open and save each record individually.

  18. Tomorrow and AM/PM buttons on activitys

    On the activity screen, when I have called someone and not got an answer I usually just move the call to the next day. Something I have seen on other CRMs is a 'Tomorrow' button next to the 'Today' button you already have. Also, If I have called a prospect in the morning and not got an answer, I may want to try that person again in the afternoon. It would be a nice way to differentiate between morning and afternoon calls by having a little AM or PM button in the activity screen and that way in my activity…

  19. Zeroes in Months

    It's a little irritating having to enter the 0 for months 1 to 9. And it's lazy programming to boot. Can I ask the developers to be a little more user friendly and stick the 0 in where appropriate?

  20. Ability to Import into Party Relationships (fully featured)

    Currently only creating relationships is possible and only with a limited number of fields exposed to the import wizard. I would like to update Party Relationship records via import and have all fields exposed, including custom fields.
