Copy lead and or select organization when creating lead
As I work with leads in Workbooks I often find I have more than one lead for a given organization. I prefer to keep organizations and people separate from my leads as that is the flow I wish to maintain. I'll convert a lead to a person and organization once they show enough qualified interest.
What would be nice to have is a way to have 2 functional short cuts in the system.
1. Copy a lead
When I work with leads I often have multiple people I am dealing with. Having to rekey in all the company address details, phone, web, is tedious. If I could simply copy the details from another record (i.e. pull up existing lead and duplicate), then I can add name, title, email.
Alternatively, the other option I could think of is....
2. Select an organization to apply to a lead
As noted, right now I don't create an organization in the system until they became a prospect. So when I convert a lead to an opportunity the person is migrated to my people list, and the organization is also created. I like that this keeps my system clean and clearly differentiates between the opportunities I'm working on and the leads that are still out there I'm hoping to garner interest from. It works from my marketing perspective.
However, I think there might be some time savings if organizations could be created and then selected from on a lead screen. I don't think this would mess up my work flow as I'd still look at my people list as active opportunities. Leads would be potential future opportunities I hope to gain, and organizations would live in a happy middle between them.
In my case I also work with Lead Forensics and I have a means to push a lead forensics visitor over to Workbooks as an organization. So this to fits nicely with this potential flow as it further reduces the tedious data entry.
